HER has about 3 dozen Foster homes all over PA and some surrounding states!  
  FOSTERS ARE ALWAYS NEEDED FOR PUPPIES, ADULTS, SENIORS, MATURNITY, MEDICAL IF YOU CAN HELP!
 Many Volunteers also that help with Events, Puppy Parties, Transports and Vet Shuttles!

Foster Parent Stories

"I got my first dog, Gnarly, when I was 29, and she very quickly became the love of my life. After having witnessed deplorable conditions at so-called Puppy Stores and fake "rescues", I decided I needed to do something to help save her kind. Animals are just too precious, innocent and helpless for me to stand by and do nothing.  After about a month of researching area rescues, Hemlock Edge Rescue definitely stood out from the pack! The rescue's objectives, policies and morals were so in line with what I was looking for, I decided to reach out to become part of their team in October of 2014, and now they'll never be rid of me! The work I've done with Hemlock has made all the difference in my life. Nothing in the world feels better or gives you a greater sense of purpose than saving a helpless animal from what would surely be a tortured life.  And, nothing is more fulfilling than knowing you're working with a team that is truly in it for all of the right reasons. I'll be a ride or die Hemlock girl forever!"

Adopter Turned Foster 

"When my dog Rigby passed, my 15 year old lab Vanzetti, just couldn’t shake his sadness of losing his friend and neither could we. So, we started seeking out getting a puppy and during Covid it was very difficult since everyone was looking to get a pup too. A friend told me about Hemlock Edge Rescue and long story short we got our puppy! She came from a liter of puppies all named after Constellations, hence our dog being named Lyra. Lyra is the perfect fit for us for our family for our dog and even for our cat. Cris Tornetta personalized the process for us and we had such a great experience with the fosters too. I had told Cris that I would love to foster and help families make the connection to their pup. So, here we are 11 fosters in and growing. Everyone from my son to my dogs and even my cat know their role when the puppies come to stay with us. I just have to repeat the mantra “Don’t be a foster fail don’t be a foster fail.” Hemlock Edge is not only a reputable organization but they really do have the most amazing dogs and puppies. We are so happy to be part of the Hemlock Edge Rescue family.
I try as a Foster Parent to create the same process I had and we fill our foster pups up with so much love that they are ready to share that love with their new families. "

Owner Surrender turned Foster

"I met Cris 7 years ago to surrender my Aggressive dog dog who was viscously biting everyone, Trainers didn't work nothing worked.. I had no where else to turn for help. We Both worked hard for my dog for Months training and placing him in a few foster homes for rehab and with no Change unfortunately had to put him down. Cris was there for support the whole way til the end...She celebrated his life with me over a few shots in Wake of his Passing.

I’ve always had a passion to help animals since I was very young. So decided to pay it forward to save lives. I became a foster for Cris and her rescue and I have been with HEMLOCK for 7 years. My son who is 10 years old also has a passion for animals and helps with every foster pup. (Yes I taught him well). My husband had a bad experience with our Past dog and Fostering has since changed his heart. Now having fostered over 20 puppies, he has opened up his heart to help save lives. Thank you to the rescues who put their heart and souls and go above and beyond in saving these animals lives. Thank you for having me on your team."
